Engine Performance Monitoring

The determination of performances and efficiencies of the ship propulsion system is a crucial prerequisite for a complex process evaluation of ship engine operation. A ship performance improvement can only be done through better and more comprehensive data acquisition.
The necessary measured values are for the most part part of the on-board measuring technique.

CYLINDER PRESSURE – ELECTRONIC (PMIMKII)

The electronic engine Indicator PMImk2 measures dynamic pressures. It is especially designed to analyze large two and four stroke Diesel engines.

SHAFT POWER AND TORQUE MEASUREMENT (TORXMETER®)

The TORXmeter® mkII shaft power measurement system is one of the most cost-effective and easy-to-install solutions for speed, torque, and power measurement on marine shafts.

MECHANICAL INDICATOR TYPE50

The mechanical pressure indicator type 50 measures dynamic pressures. It is especially designed to analyze large two stroke Diesel engines.

PEAK PRESSURE INDICATOR MSI-3

The MSI3 peak pressure engine indicator is designed for displaying the maximum value of gas pressures which are subject to rapid variations.

Flow Measurement

The flow measurement finds its application in the most diverse areas, with the most different media. As a medium, liquids or gases can be measured. There are a variety of measurement methods to measure these flows (or consumption). Depending on the application and specification of the medium, the measuring instruments should be selected.

CORIOLIS MASSFLOW METER (CMD) – ROTAMASS – YOKOGAWA

The flow meters of the Coriolis Mass Flow Meters (CMD)  measure the mass flow of various media (liquids, gases, vapors).

VOLUME FLOW – ROTARY PISTON CONTOIL® (AQUAMETRO)

The CONTOIL® oil meters work according to the volumetric measuring principle of the rotary piston meter.

Nondestructive Testing (NDT)

Non-destructive material testing, or NDT, tests the quality of a workpiece without damaging the material itself. For this purpose, various physical effects are used. In our assortment we use the ultrasonic test for material testing (residual metal thickness). It belongs to the nondestructive testing methods. This allows the components to be inspected even when installed without removing the coatings.

MATERIAL THICKNESS (RESIDUAL METAL THICKNESS) - MULTIGAUGE 5500

The Multigauge 5500 has been designed for hands free use when climbing on staging, ladders, scaffolding or when accessing by rope.

MATERIAL THICKNESS (RESIDUAL METAL THICKNESS & SURVEYOR) - MULTIGAUGE 5700

The Multigauge 5700 is a simple, robust ultrasonic thickness gauge designed for most common thickness gauging applications with the added benefit of being able to store measurements within the gauge.

Condition Monitoring

Condition monitoring is based on regular or permanent recording of the machine or plant status. Through the measurement or analysis, damage and problems can be detected and resolved in good time.

DEFLECTION AND CRANKSHAFT DI-5TX SERIES

Easy and fast measurement of crankshaft deflection and cylinder liner ovality. As an option to the instrument you can connect the ovality kit to check the cylinder liner ovality and wear comparison.

 ANALOG DEFLECTION INDICATOR (CRANKSHAFT GAUGE) - TXM-KP-150/ TXM-KP-300/ TXM-KP-500

This analog crankshaft gauge enables measuring deflection range in between 60500mm for testing crankshafts and bearings in the installed state.

OVERSPEEDTESTER / SIMULATOR (OTM)

Easy testing of overspeed safety devices without risk of engine damages at still stand or idle speed.

OIL CONDITION – HUMIDITY SENSOR

By continuously measuring the relative humidity, the humidity sensor determines free or dissolved water in oil.

VIDEOSCOPES

Inspection of injector caps / valves or liners when installed, via the access air purge slots, minimizes maintenance time and saves costs for e.g. Seal kits that do not need to be replaced.

WATER AND OIL TEST KITS

A range of oil condition measurement and test kits to ensure optimal condition-based maintenance.

Calibration Equipment

Every ship is equipped with a high number of pressure and temperature sensors. The accuracy check of these sensors has to be done according to rules of the relevant classification society regulation.  The calibrators must be easy to use and should survive in the “heavy duty” environmental on board of a sea going vessel. All calibrators must come with a certificate of accuracy (calibration document) acc. to national standards.

MARINE CALIBRATION KIT (TXMCK)

This Marine Calibration Kit enables the user to perform temperature and pressure tests, measurements and calibrations for all types of instruments. It contains a complete pressure test set as well as a temperature test including all necessary accessories and certificates according to IMO regulations.
